LONG BEACH, CA – A series of summer life model drawing workshops will be offered for the first time at the Werlick Studio in Long Beach, beginning on June 2.
Three separate workshops will be offered: on Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm, Sundays from 2 pm until 5 pm and Thursdays, from 7 pm to 10 pm through August 25. Artists at all levels of experience are welcome to participate. (Participants must be at least 18 years of age). The cost per person for each individual three-hour session is $15.
The Werlick Studio is the workspace of the late Stephen Werlick, renowned sculptor and director of the Cal State Long Beach Sculpture Department for more than 30 years, Fulbright scholar, and recipient of the Rome Prize Fellowship. It was Steve’s wish to leave his studio intact as his legacy to the Long Beach community by making it a workspace for other artists. The goal is to make this space available as a non-profit organization initially through non-instructed workshops, and eventually through a full program of classes with a focus on sculpture.
